Design and Project Process
Each project is as unique as the home it encompasses. Below is a brief outline of the design and project process. This is only a baseline and most projects will demand more time in certain focus areas to ensure the best result is delivered to meet your desired outcome.

First Appointment
Step 1 - First Appointment 1.5 - 2 hours
We recommend meeting at your home for the initial consultation. What do you love? What are your MUST haves? You will most likely be asked to do some “homework” prior to meeting. In this first meeting much time is spent listening to understand your specific project goals and style directions. It is our goal to help you discover, direct and refine your own style. It is critical that all responsible parties participate in the initial meeting so that important project directives can be considered during the design phase.

Proposed Project Plan

Design Conceptualization
Step 2 - Design Conceptualization 2 - 4 weeks
After the initial consultation, we will consider the desired changes, scope of the project and implication and impact on the surrounding areas. Considering these details closely at the start of a project will decrease transitions and alterations to the plan later on. Budget, function and style are all integral parts of this process and to find balance with these differing elements gives a finished design plan with integrity of form and function. Attention to detail and thoughtful consideration to the style concept, spatial feel and functionality will result in a viable design plan with flow and continuity.

Specific Design Measure
Step 3 - Proposed Project Plan 1 - 2 hours onsite with all involved parties
At this meeting you are presented with a proposal of recommendations for your Design Concept. These concepts are discussed and considered by all involved. Materials selections, colors, and textural elements are discussed and examples given. If the scope of work is to be done in phases, prioritization is established.

IProduct Selection
Step 5 - Product Selection
Materials viability and applications appropriateness are considered during the design conceptualization phase, once the direction of the project plan is decided on by the client we go to the various materials sources to make selections for your project needs. Based on your plans; the materials, stone, tile, glass or concrete are selected to suit your style mode. Interiors Motives has accounts and access to trade only resources such as fabrics, furnishings, glass installations, commissioned fine art, custom iron work, and green building materials.
Step 4: Specified Design Measure 1 - 2 hours onsite
“As is” dimensions are essential to complete the “to build” plans. A team of 1-2 persons comes to do an on-site measure or to verify measurements on original blue prints or builder’s red line drawings. These dimensions are then input to a CAD program and scaled for your specific projects.

Customized Design
Step 6 - Customized Design
Refinement of your specific design elements. Cad and detailed layouts with detailed materials applications and size, dimension requirements and clearances. These are then passed on to the fabricators for site specific build.
